GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday reviewed the progress of construction of the new building of Assam Legislative Assembly in the presence of speaker Biswajit Daimary, deputy speaker Dr Numal Momin, political secretary Jayanta Malla Baruah and top officials.
CM Sarma asked commissioner PWD (Building) Raj Chakrabarty to complete the construction by December so that winter session of the assembly can be held in the new building. Chief Minister Dr Sarma also asked PWD (Building) to revisit the changes to be brought in with regard to the interiors and seek administrative approval for expeditious completion of the G+15 building which will house the main assembly, the assembly secretariat and ministers’ chambers along with other facilities.
