CM Sarma meets President at Rashtrapati Bhavan

GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday called on president Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

During his visit, CM Sarma invited the president to Assam to visit Kaziranga National Park.

Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site, is inhabited by the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds.

Taking to Twitter, CM Sarma wrote, “Today I called on Mahamahim Rashtrapati Sri Ramnath Kovind ji at President House. I am extremely proud to have received Hon President’s blessings & guidance.

I extended an invitation to him to kindly grace us with his visit to Assam and see Kaziranga.”

Earlier on Thursday, the chief minister also met union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.
