CM Sarma campaings for UPPL’s Jolen Daimary, sanctions Rs 10 Cr for construction of new stadium in Tamulpur

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday announced that the state government will sanction Rupees 10 crore for the construction of a new stadium at Owbari in Tamulpur.

Dr. Sarma made the announcement during an election rally in support of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) Jolen Daimary.

Taking to his Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “We will sanction ₹10 cr for construction of a new Stadium at Owbari. In addition to existing 16,000 beneficiaries, 10,000 more families of Tamulpur LAC will get benefits under Orunodoi scheme. Earlier, visited Shiva Mandir near the meeting venue & prayed for wellbeing of Assam.”

“Love & support of people at an election rally at Owbari Playground, Suklai Serfang under Tamulpur LAC today is a reflection of their faith in NDA. Urged people to vote for BJP- AGP- UPPL candidate Sri Jolen Daimary,” CM Sarma also tweeted.

The minister also informed in addition to the existing 16,000 beneficiaries, 10,000 more families of Tamulpur LAC will get benefits under the Orunodoi scheme.

Another bridge over the same river at Jartaluk is nearing completion and the work for a medical college and hospital in the town will commence shortly. Tamulpur will itself become a full-fledged district by Republic Day next year, he added.
