Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday announced that the state government will sanction Rupees 10 crore for the construction of a new stadium at Owbari in Tamulpur.
Dr. Sarma made the announcement during an election rally in support of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) Jolen Daimary.
Taking to his Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “We will sanction ₹10 cr for construction of a new Stadium at Owbari. In addition to existing 16,000 beneficiaries, 10,000 more families of Tamulpur LAC will get benefits under Orunodoi scheme. Earlier, visited Shiva Mandir near the meeting venue & prayed for wellbeing of Assam.”

The minister also informed in addition to the existing 16,000 beneficiaries, 10,000 more families of Tamulpur LAC will get benefits under the Orunodoi scheme.
We will add 10K more Orunodoi beneficiaries to existing 17K & provide 1 lakh jobs to youth. MFI loan waiver will be provided to 22 lakh women.

Another bridge over the same river at Jartaluk is nearing completion and the work for a medical college and hospital in the town will commence shortly. Tamulpur will itself become a full-fledged district by Republic Day next year, he added.
