Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today (June 7) inaugurated the newly built Inspection Bungalow at Ghagrapar in Nalbari district.

The three-storey modern facility includes VIP and deluxe rooms, conference halls, offices and ample parking space which Chief Minister Dr Sarma said is a key addition to Nalbari’s growing infrastructure.

He also remarked that the area has gained significance following the establishment of the Nalbari Medical College.

Dr Sarma also laid the foundation stone for a Rs 25.33 crore centralised kitchen of Akshaya Patra in Nalbari.

The kitchen is a transformative initiative to provide nutritious meals to school children and disaster-affected people and will serve quality mid-day meals to students of all nearby schools.

The construction of centralised kitchens is part of a collaboration between the Akshaya Patra Foundation and Government of Assam to strengthen the Mid-Day Meal programme.

He highlighted that the initiative will provide nutritious meals to school children and allow teachers to focus more fully on teaching, and enhance the overall learning environment.

During his day-long tour to Nalbari, Chief Minister Dr Sarma also offered prayers at the Sri Sri Nabagraha Temple in Gandhia, wishing for the well-being and prosperity of the people of the State.
