GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed Assam Police to conduct the recruitment exam for the sub-inspector (SI) posts within November 15. Reiterating his government’s commitment to zero tolerance policy against corruption, Sonowal said that stern action would be taken against those involved in the scam.
“I have already directed Assam Police to conduct SI exam within November 15 in a fair manner. We have sought people’s cooperation in this regard. I ordered to cancel the exam within 15 minutes when I learnt about the question paper leakage,” Sonowal said in lower Assam’s Dhubri district on Monday.
The chief minister also stated that many people remained silent when his government had taken action against those involved in the cash-for-job scam of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).
