Cinema halls, bars to remain closed in Assam

PUBLISHED:

GUWAHATI: Though the Assam government relaxed some restrictions during Unlock 3 in a fresh order issued on Sunday, cinema halls and bars will remain closed in the state to avoid public gathering.

“Cinema Halls, Swimming Pools, Entertainment Parks, Theatres, Bars, Auditoriums, Assembly Halls and similar places of public gathering shall remain closed,” said the order issued by Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna.

The order will remain in force from 7 PM, August 2 to 7 PM, August 14.

Meanwhile, the government has allowed the opening of malls and gyms from Monday to Friday.

Inter-district movement has been allowed in every Monday and Tuesday. No separate permission or e-permit is required to travel from one district to another on these two days of the week.

However, weekend lockdown across the state will remain in force.

Though the Unlock 3 guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) withdrew the night curfew, the Assam government has decided to continue the 12-hour night curfew to arrest the chain of novel coronavirus.
