CHIRANG: ABSU takes out bike rally to welcome PM Modi

GUWAHATI: Ahead of prime minister Narendra Modi’s visit to attend Vijay Utsav at Kokrajhar on February 7, All Bodo Students’ Union today took out a bike rally at Basugaon in Chirang district to welcome the prime minister.

Thousands of ABSU members took part in the rally.

“We welcome our prime minister to Vijay Utsav. Every district committee of ABSU has taken out bike rallies to express our thankfulness to prime ministers, central and state governments. We the Bodo people are really happy for signing the historic peace accord. It will help us to preserve our distinct culture and identity,” said a leader of ABSU.

“We want to convey the message to our people that we have got permanent solution to our problems. The armed struggle of over five-decade is over. It is really a historic moment for us,” he added.
