Chinese PLA troops enter India

PUBLISHED:

A year after the Doklam stand-off between India and China, similar intrusion by the Chinese troops have been reported by the local residents of Dibang in Arunachal Pradesh. The local residents have clicked photographs, which show China’s Peoples’ Liberation Army (PLA) troops in Dibang area in Arunachal Pradesh.

According to a local, around 11 Chinese PLA men dressed in camouflaged Army fatigues entered 14 km inside India, near the river bank of Mathu and Emra, where they setup their tent. They were spotted by local villagers who had gone out hunting. The locals then clicked photographs of the intrusion and alerted the Army and local administration. It is believed that the intrusion took place about five-six days ago.

This is not the first time that PLA troops have entered inside the Indian Territory. Intrusions along the LAC are a regular occurrence along the de-facto boundary between India and China. The intrusion has surfaced at a time when India and China have joined hands to train Afghan diplomats in New Delhi.

The relations between the two countries have been going through a rough patch post the 2017 Doklam standoff, wherein Chinese troops were spotted constructing a road inside the Indian Territory in Doklam in June 2017. They were apprehended by Indian troops and the standoff continued till August 28 after a diplomatic intervention.

However, according to the Ministry of External Affairs, the PLA troops later retreated after the Indian Army conveyed to them that they have entered the Indian side. Both the armies are resolving such matters as per a set protocol, reported news agency ANI.

It should be noted that both India and China, on August 28, announced that they had withdrawn all their soldiers from Doklam.
