Centre likely to sign Bodo Accord with NDFB, ABSU on Monday

GUWAHATI: Amid speculation, the centre is all set to sign a new Bodo Accord with all the factions of National Democratic Front of Bodoland and All Bodo Students’ Union.

The tripartite agreement is likely to be signed on Monday in New Delhi in the presence of union home minister Amit Shah, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Leaders representing all the four groups of NDFB— B. Sawraigra, Ranjan Daimary, Gobinda Basumatary, Dhiren Bodo and ABSU President Pramod Bodo will be present during the event as the signatories of the new accord.

Bodoland Territorial Council chief Hagrama Mohilary will also attend the event of signing the tripartite accord.

Meanwhile, reacting on the proposed agreement, Mohilary said, “We are demanding for area extension under BTC. But it will depend on the stand of NDFB leaders.”

On the other hand, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary said, “It will be a full stop of Bodo issues, there will be no comma.”
