The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is continuing with its probe into the Louis Berger scam with three teams of the CBI camping in Guwahati and continuing with their investigation since the past four days.
The CBI teams are being led by Rajiv Ranjan, Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Unit-(I) of the apex investigating agency and are in Guwahati following the Gauhati High Court’s order to the investigating body to probe the multi-crore-rupee scam.
The CBI teams carried out simultaneous investigations at three places today — at the regional enforcement directorate at Rajgarh locality of Guwahati, at GMDA office and at the previous office of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at Christian Basti.

The CBI team also interrogated Preetam Saikia, former CEO of the Guwahati Development Department, at the GMDA office today (Sep 29) besides probing how seven files related to the water supply projects where the alleged corruption took place could have disappeared.
Interrogators had earlier questioned Pomi Baruah, the then OSD in the Guwahati Development Department in connection with the financial anomalies besides also interrogating the then GDD secretary Ashish Kumar Bhutani in New Delhi.
