In yet another distressing, tragic and unsettling incident from Canada, three children among five people were killed in a mass shooting incident in the northern Ontario city in Canada.
Taking swift action in to the matter and further investigating the crime scene, Sault Ste. Marie Police said that the 3 kids among 5 people were found dead at two homes.
As per the statement of Sault Ste. Marie Police, they responded to a 911 call at 10.20 pm (local time) and found a 41-year-old dead of a gunshot wound at the 200 block of Tancred Street.
About ten minutes later, the police officers responded to the second call, finding a 45-year-old with a gunshot wound.
The investigators said they also recovered the bodies of a six-year-old and a 12-year-old, who, they claimed, were also shot and killed.
Further, the officers informed that they also found a 44-year-old dead, from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot.
As per the investigation, both of these deaths in two different homes were connected and were result of intimate partner violence.
“Our community is once again faced with the tragic and unnecessary loss of life,” Sault Ste. Marie police Chief Hugh Stevenson said.
“The grief the families, friends and loved ones of the victims are facing is unimaginable. Our hearts go out to them. As our community grieves this tragedy, I urge everyone to please watch out for each other. If you are struggling, or if you see someone you know struggling, please make use of the mental health supports available in our community,” he added.
Last month, two men died and six others suffered injuries in a shooting at a wedding reception in Ottawa.
