Cachar DC Keerthi Jalli walks 12 KM to take stock of Assam-Mizoram border situation

GUWAHATI: Keerthi Jalli, deputy commissioner (DC) of Assam’s Cachar district along with divisional forest officer Sunnydeo Choudhury, range forest officer of  Dholai  Dibyajyoti Deori and other forest staff trudged along deep inside the Aitlang Khal area along the  Assam- Mizoram border to take stock of the situation on Tuesday.

DC Jalli and other officials started the journey at 9 AM and walked for almost 12 KM from Dholai to Aitlang area. 

The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the local people of the region who told her that few Mizo people have visited the area in the last few days .

They informed the DC that Mizo miscreants have removed the forest boundary pillars in the Aitlang area. After the border inspection, the team returned back to Dholai through Jamirkhal area at around 6 PM.
