GUWAHATI, Dec 2: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold another round of consultations, this time with representatives of nine student bodies of Assam, so as to allay fears surrounding the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill.
The Union Home Minister will meet representatives of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), AJYCP, ATASU, ATTSA, Koch-Rajbangshi Sanmilani, AKRSU, Chutia Students’ Union, Moran Students’ Union and Mottock Students’ Union.

The Union Home Minister had earlier on Nov 29 and Nov 30 held discussions with leaders of political parties and apolitical and students bodies and civil society groups in a massive attempt to allay fears and apprehension surrounding the proposed legislation that the Centre aims to table and get it passed during the ongoing winter session of Parliament.
NEDA Convener Himanta Biswa Sarma was also present during the discussions.
