The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) will instal a memorial stone of martyred CRPF trooper Maneswar Basumatary who lost his life in the grisly Pulwama attack at the BTC Secretariat. This was announced by BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary at the residence of the slain paramilitary trooper as family members performed rituals on his ‘adya-shraddha’.
The BTC chief also handed over a check of Rs 5 lakh to the martyr’s widow besides also announcing the BTC administration’s decision to name the Goreswar-Tamulpur Road in his memory. A status of the slain CRPF jawan will also be constructed in Kokrajhar.
Hundreds of people attended the adya-shraddha that was performed as per Bathow tradition and rituals.
Apart from the BTC chief, BPF leader and Assam Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary and other senior BTC officials and elected representatives attended the adya-shraddha ceremony of the slain CRPF trooper.
