GUWAHATI: In two separate operations, troops of Border Security Force (BSF) under Guwahati Frontier seized 20 KGs of ganja and 187 bottles of Phensedyl in the bordering areas of Nagar Singimari and Kaiterbariin Coohbehar district of West Bengal while these contraband items were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
Acting on a tip-off troops of Border Out Post Fulbari of 47 Battalion of BSF under Guwahati Frontier, carried out a special operation in Nagar Singimari and seized 4 packets of Ganja (Total 20 KGs) on Tuesday.
“In Second operation, acting on tip-off, troops of Border Out Post Sabri, of 100 Bn BSF, under Guwahati Frontier, carried out a special operation in general area of village Kaiterbari, , PS- Sitai, Distt- Coochbehar (WB) and seized 02 Packet of Phensedyl (Total 87 btls) which were wrapped in plastic on the intervening night of 28/29 July 2020,” public relations officer (PRO) of BSF Guwahati Frontier said in a press release.
The seized ganja and Phensedyl were handed over to respective police stations.
