GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted to announce two new COVID-19 positive cases in the state. The two persons from Sivasagar district are under quarantine at Jorhat. Arrangements have been made to shift them to hospital from quarantine centre. With these new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has reached 214.
Earlier in the morning, two cases were reported from the zonal quarantine centre at Tezpur University in Sonitpur district. The two persons belong to Dhakuakhana and Udalguri. On Thursday, seven positive cases were found at Tezpur University quarantine centre.
Currently, there are 153 active cases in Assam with the recovery of 54 patients and 4 deaths. On the other hand, 3 patients migrated from the state.
