GUWAHATI, Dec 13: Superstar Allu Arjun has been arrested in connection with the stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad in which a woman was killed while her nine-year-old son was critically injured.
Video showed Allu Arjun being escorted by Police in a lift and subsequently taken into custody.
A team of police officials from Chikkadpally police station in Hyderabad arrested the actor from his Jubilee Hills residence.
He was then taken to the police station where he would be questioned, reports said.
A 32-year-old woman named Revathy had died while her nine-year-old son was hospitalised during a stampede-like situation at the famous Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere show of “Pushpa 2: The Rule” on December 4.
The family of the deceased woman had lodged a complaint against the actor, his security team and the theatre management following which a case was registered at the Chikkadpally police station under sections 105 and 118(1) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
