Despite alleged large-scale anomalies in P&RD recruitment tests, Assam Panchayat & Rural Development Minister Naba Doley said the written tests to fill over 900 vacant posts were “free and fair” and “no anomalies have been reported”. He also said there will be no re-examination and that inquiries will be conducted only at a couple of exam centres.

“I congratulate my department officials for holding the recruitment tests in a free and fair manner. We have not officially received any complaint of anomalies at any exam centre. There will be no re-test,” Doley said after a meeting with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal following a massive outcry over the written tests held yesterday that were marred by anomalies, including reports of question paper leaks and some candidates brazenly resorting to the use of mobile phones while writing the examinations.
