GUWAHATI, Nov 25: Close shave for Assam with police foiling a deadly plan of ISIS terrorists to carry out bombings in Assam. A joint team of Delhi and Goalpara police arrested three terrorists in a midnight operation on Sunday besides also recovering a huge quantity of explosives, including timer devices, from the possession of the arrested trio.
The arrested terrorsist, identified as Mukaddir Islam, Ranjeet Ali, & Luit Jamaul Jamal, all between 20 and 25 years, were planning to target Raas festivities in Dudhnoi.
“A terror strike has been averted as three persons have been apprehended with Improvised explosive devices (IED),” DCP Pramod Kushwaha of the Delhi Police Special Cell said.
Delhi Police further said that after triggering blasts in Dudhnoi, the trio was planning to replicate it in Delhi.
“The three arrested persons were from an ISIS inspired module and were planning to attack using an IED blast in Goalpara. They were planning to replicate it in Delhi,” Kushwaha added.
