Breaking: BJP snaps ties with BPF

PUBLISHED:

GUWAHATI: The Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) has snapped its ties with Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) in Assam.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati on Thursday, senior BJP leader and Assam cabinet minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The alliance of BJP with BPF was for five years. This alliance is not renewed after five years. It means, in 2021 assembly elections, BJP wil contest alone in BTC area.”

Dr. Sarma has also urged the BPF to decipher the writings on the walls.

The two parties have been fighting Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections separately despite BPF’s share of three berths in the BJP-led Assam cabinet.
