GUWAHATI, Nov 21: A Bangladeshi national who was arrested for entering Assam with forged documents fled from Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) last night.
Sahabuddin, 30, was arrested by Hailakandi Police from Dhanipur area around two months ago. He was later sent to judicial custody and was lodged at Hailakandi District Jail.
On November 10, Sahabuddin compained of ill health following which he was admitted to SMCH where he was undergoing treatment.
However, the arrested Bangladeshi national fled from the hospital, pipping the three security guards who were deployed there.
Police said efforts are now on to track him down and re-arrest him.
