GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to announce six more COVID-19 positive cases in the state. Among the six new COVID-19 patients, three patients are from Guwahati which include wife and daughter of the cancer patient who had died at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
On the other hand, health minister Sarma mentioned that two patients are from Karimganj and one is from Sarusajai quarantine centre. With these new cases, total patient count in the state has gone up to 141.

On Tuesday, Assam has witnessed highest single-day spike with 26 new cases. Earlier in the morning, within a span of one hour 20 COVID-19 positive cases were detected in the state.
At 11.05 AM Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted about 6 new positive cases in the state. Among them, two cases are each from Jorhat and Golaghat, while one case is each from Kokrajhar and Nagaon. One of the Jorhat patients had returned from Chennai. On the other hand, other patients had returned from Darjeeling, informed minister Sarma in his Tweet.
At 11.55 AM Dr. Sarma alerted with the announcement of 14 more cases— 7 from Kamrup , 2 from Hojai, 2 from Biswanath, 1 from Nagaon and 2 from Nalbari. They had reportedly returned from other states.
Dr. Sarma’s recent Tweet came at 6.35 PM which declared the 6 more cases in Assam. Currently, there are 94 active cases in the state. While 41 people have recovered from the diease, four COVID-19 deaths have been reported so far. On the other hand, 2 persons have migrated to other states.
