GUWAHATI: Assam has reported 53 new COVID-19 positive cases together which is the highest-one-time spike of cases in the State. Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to announce the new cases from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre in Guwahati, Dima Hasao and Cachar districts. Dr. Sarma stated that 44 cases are from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre. On the other hand, 7 positive cases are from Dima Hasao and 2 from Cachar. With these new cases, the tally in the State has reached 319 with 258 active cases.
So far on Saturday, Assam has registered 60 COVID-19 positive cases which is the highest-single-day spike. Earlier in the morning, seven people tested positive for COVID-19. Among them, 6 patients belong to Hojai. They were under quarantine at Sarusajai. Another person from Dhubri was also under quarantine.
On Friday Assam reported total 49 cases.
