Breaking: 39 test COVID-19 positive in Assam, count rises to 466

GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced 39 new COVID-19 positive cases in the State. Among the 39 new patients, 35 persons are from Golaghat, 3 from Dhemaji and one from Nagaon. At present the count of COVID-19 cases in Assam stands at 466 with 402 active cases.

So far on Monday Assam has reported 74 cases. Earlier in the morning 35 cases were detected in the State. On the other hand, Golaghat district has reported 53 COVID-19 positive cases in single day. Eighteen cases from Golaghat were detected in the morning.

Dhemaji which was the only COVID-19 free district in Assam till Monday morning reported total 4 cases so far. The district reported its first case in the morning.

In his Tweet, minister Sarma stated that swabs of all the patients had been taken before they were put under quarantine. It may be noted that majority of recent cases in Assam have been reported from the quarantine centres.
