GUWAHATI: Assam has recorded 2,698 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. With this the total number of cases has reached 1,23,922.
Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Alert ~ 2698 #COVID cases detected today out of 35147 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 7.67% Kamrup M- 700; Bongaigaon- 190; Lakhimpur- 151; Kamrup R- 142.”
On the other hand, seven more people have succumbed to the infection.
“Demise of 7 Covid patients- Late Rajen Kakoty (80) of Kamrup M; Late Prafulla Bora (65) of Charaideo; Late Sinaram Chetia (54) of Sivasagar; Late Faizul Islam Laskar (62) of Hailakandi; Late Debojani Neog (70) of Jorhat; Late Badal Ch Roy (63); Late Rostam Ali (63) of Darrang,” Dr. Sarma stated in another tweet.
