GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to announce 14 more COVID-19 positive cases in the state. With these new cases, the total number of cases in Assam has reached 135. Among the new patients 7 people are from Kamrup, 2 from Hojai, 2 from Biswanath, 1 from Nagaon and 2 from Nalbari. According to reports, among them 12 patients were under quarantine at Sarusajai in Guwahati. They reportedly returned from other states.
“Alert – 14 new #COVID + cases confirmed. 7 are from Kamrup , 2 from Hojai, 2 from Biswanath, 1 from Nagaon,2 from Nalbari. Total cases now touch 135.
Please #StayAtHome as much as possible and follow all instructions,” Dr. Sarma tweeted.
Assam has seen the highest single-day spike on Tuesday as the state has reported total 20 COVID-19 cases within a span of around one hour. Earlier at 11.05 AM health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted to announce 6 COVID-19 positive cases.
