Amid intensified search and rescue operations to trace the missing passengers of the mechanized country boat that capsized in the middle of the Brahmaputra on Wednesday, the body of Rahul Ali — whose whereabouts were not known after the tragic accident — was recovered at Bordia char under Palasbari revenue circle in Kamrup district.
The body was found floating near the river bank with police confirming it to be that of Rahul.

With this, the total number of human casualty as a result of the tragic mishap has climbed to four, including Ankita Baruah and Dimpi Bora, two students of Cotton State University.

Meanwhile, Army, NDRF and SDRF personnel resumed search and rescue operations in and around the accident site near the Ashwaklanta temple this morning and were assisted by Navy divers.
