GUWAHATI: More than 250 people who came into contact with 5 COVID-19 patients in Bongaigaon have been put under institutional quarantine, informed Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. He also informed that 500 people have been put under home quarantine.
Speaking to media persons during his visit to Bongaigaon, Dr. Sarma said, “We have collected samples of all of them. We will decide future course of action on May 11.”
Sarma also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements of the district administration at the containment zones of Bongaigaon.
Meanwhile, minister Sarma stated that only opening of petrol, diesel depots, sale of vegetables and food will be allowed in Bongaigaon. No industrial activities will be permitted in the district.
