Bodo film ‘Sijou’ bags awards at Golden Sparrow International Film Festival

Guwahati: Bodo film ‘Sijou’ bagged four awards at the Golden Sparrow International Film Festival 2021 on Monday in Tamil Nadu. The movie is written and directed by Vishal P Chaliha.

The film ‘Sijou’ bagged the “Best Director”, Indian Feature Film, “Best Debut Filmmaker” of Feature Film”, “Best Screenplay Writer”, Indian feature film, and “Special jury award,” Indian feature film.

Produced by national award-winning filmmakers, Preeyam Kherkatary Chaliha and Omprakash Kherkatary, ‘Sijou’ is the only film from the Northeast to have bagged awards at the festival this year.

‘Sijou’ portrays the story of an intelligent boy, who lives in Saikhonguri village in the Indo-Bhutan border. In the movie, the boy, along with his friends, spend their free time doing unique works. The film shows the life journey of the boy.
