Bodies of all 67 killed in passenger jet-chopper collision in Washington recovered from Potomac river

GUWAHATI, Jan 5: The mortal remains of all 67 victims from the tragic plane-helicopter mid-air crash over the Potomac River near Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington have been recovered, US authorities said but claimed that one of the victims is yet to be unidentified.

The mid-air crash involving an American Airlines passenger jet and a military Black Hawk helicopter took place on January 30.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it was examining new data that could put the helicopter above its 200-foot (61-meter) flight ceiling while investigators said they need to get more information from the still-submerged Black Hawk to verify the data.

NTSB officials stated that additional verification is required to confirm the exact data points from the Black Hawk.

Recovery of the helicopter from the water, which is essential for the investigation, is expected to occur later this week, reports further stated.
