GUWAHATI: Ahead of Assam Assembly elections, North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor and minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) process of selecting candidates is plain and simple. He also stated there is no categorisation such as new and old BJP workers.

“The process of selecting candidates in BJP is plain and simple….But we have been trying to read the minds of our workers,” said Sarma.

He added that leaders with a possibility to win will get the party tickets.

“There is no categorisation of new and old workers. Everyone is a respectful BJP worker. Leaders with a possibility to win and who can promote the ideals of the BJP will get tickets,” said Sarma.
