Guwahati: In a gesture of kindness, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam donated his blood plasma to a leader of the opposition party.
Addressing an event at Rabindra Bhawan, Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “A former political party colleague needed plasma, for which I went to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) around 1: 30 AM in the morning and tried my best to manage the plasma for my ex-colleague. We had an old camaraderie and it was quite necessary for me to help someone who is in need”.
“In the morning the leader of the opposition party was enquiring about the plasma as who has donated him the plasma. To his inquiry, the staff members informed him that the plasma was donated to by a member of BJP. The leader once criticized us for our work during the pandemic and today we showed that nothing matters when it comes to the service of humanity,” added Dr. Sarma.
The minister also said that humanity is definitely above any kind of political fight. The members of BJP have decided to donate 1000 plasma and these 1000 plasmas will go to the bodies of 2000 people.
“We don’t know who got our plasma, but the recovered BJP workers went to the hospital once again and donated the plasma,” said Dr. Sharma
