GUWAHATI: Assam minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazarika said that Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) would win more than 30 seats in the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC). The polling for the autonomous council is underway in four districts of middle Assam.
“Definitely, we will win more than 30 seats. In one seat, we have won uncontested. We have contested in 34 seats. I am confident that the BJP will get more than 30 seats,” said Hazarika who had arrived at a polling booth in Morigaon to cast his vote. Aimee Baruah, wife of Pijush Hazarika also accompanied the minister.
Hazarika claimed that after forming the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) with the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) and Gana Suraksha party (GSP), the BJP will form the Tiwa Autonomous Council.
“Now BJP is everywhere. We will definitely win in this election also,” he said.
