Guwahati: Former Chief Minister and Congress Veteran leader Tarun Gogoi alleged the BJP government of buying and selling MLA’s after the news broke out that senior journalist Atanu Bhuyan will be contesting for Rajya Sabha elections.
Speaking to the media Tarun Gogoi said, “The BJP government has a lot of money and they are already prepared to buy MLA’s because they don’t have numbers. And if they don’t have numbers how are they going to win the elections and here the role of money enters. Either have to buy MLA’s from us or AIUDF and this is something very shameful on their part”.
The veteran Congress leader also added, “I am not saying that journalist against journalist or politician against politician is a bad thing. But I want state that senior journalist Atanu Bhuyan can’t contest the election without any support from anyone. If Himanta Biswa Sarma doesn’t extend his support to Atanu Bhuyan he won’t be able to contest for the election and will be a zero. But I feel they have a secret understanding within themselves or with CM Sonowal though I am not totally sure about it”.
