Guwahati: BJP MP and Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari has demanded a CBI probe in the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
According to a report of India Today, Manoj Tiwari, who met the family members of Sushant Singh Rajput in Patna on Monday, said that the circumstances under which the late actor committed suicide, needs to be probed in depth.
The BJP MP further raised the issue of nepotism in Bollywood and said it was extremely difficult for outsiders to make a place for themselves in the industry.
“When someone from outside the industry makes a place for himself and attains success, several forces get activated to block his way. Sushant lost his mother at the age of 16 but was not shaken. So what happened now which took him to this extent that he committed suicide?” asked Manoj Tiwari.
Tiwari demanded a high-level enquiry to probe the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and also endorsed his family’s demand of the same.
“Nepotism in Bollywood being the reason for Sushant Singh Rajput’s death should be investigated. Whosoever is guilty should be punished. The Maharashtra government should handover the case to CBI for a fair probe,” the BJP MP further added.
Earlier, Lok Janshakti Party National President and MP Chirag Paswan also wrote to Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, requesting him to speak to his Maharashtra counterpart Uddhav Thackeray for a fair probe into Sushant Singh Rajput’s case.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s funeral took place at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai on June 15 in the presence of his family and a few close friends from the industry. Following which, his family flew back to Patna to immerse his ashes in the Ganga on June 17.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s last theatrical release was Chhichhore, while Drive, another on of the actor’s film had premiered on Netflix. His last film, Dil Bechara, that also marks the Bollywood debut of Sanjana Sanghi, is believed to be headed the OTT route as well.
