GUWAHATI: The Assam state BJP has demanded strict action against the attackers of popular singer Zubeen Garg. In a press release, secretary of state BJP Krishnomoni Chutia and state Yuva Morcha president Anup Barman condemned the attack on the singer.
“The attack is not on Zubeen Garg, but it is an attack on the Assamese,” the press release stated.
They demanded stringent punishment for the attackers.
Garg was attacked by a group of miscreants at around 12.40 AM in the Ganeshguri area of Guwahati while the singer was returning to his home from the studio.
The six member group came with a Suzuki Ciaz car bearing registration number, AS-01BY-0675. The group who came out from the car had beer bottles in their hands, hurled abuses as well as attempted attack on the singer.
