Bengaluru Test: New Zealand beat India by 8 wickets; register first test victory on Indian soil in 36 years

GUWAHATI, Oct 20: New Zealand defeated India by eight wickets in the first test of the three-match series at Bengaluru today (Oct 20) to record their first Test win on Indian soil in 36 years.

Chasing 107 for victory, New Zealand reached the target losing the wickets of captain Tom Latham, who departed without scoring and Devon Conway. Will Young remained unbeaten on 48 while Rachin Ravindra made 39 not out. The Kiwis are now 1-0 up in the three-match series.

The second test of the series will be played at the MCA Stadium in Pune from Oct 24.
