Bengaluru stampede: Top RCB executive among 4 arrested ~ Bengaluru police have arrested four people, including a top Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) executive, in connection with the tragic stampede that took place during RCB’s IPL victory celebrations outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Eleven people had died while over 50 people were injured in the stampede a day after the Bengaluru franchise lifted their first IPL trophy after 18 years.

RCB’s head of marketing and revenue Nikhil Sosale was reportedly arrested from Kempegowda International Airport while he was allegedly trying to fly to Mumbai.

The other three arrested are from DNA Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the event management company which was tasked to organize the victory celebrations. The four persons were being arrested by police after their arrests.

Cubbon Park Police had registered a suo motu FIR against RCB franchise, KSCA officials and DNA Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. after a directive from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Arrested Individuals

Nikhil Sosale: Head of Marketing and Revenue for RCB. He was apprehended at Kempegowda International Airport while attempting to travel to Mumbai. Sosale is an employee of Diageo India, the parent company of United Spirits Limited, which owns the RCB franchise.

Sunil Mathew: An executive of DNA Entertainment Networks who handles IPL events for the company.

Kiran Kumar: Another official of DNA Entertainment Networks.

Sumanth: Also associated with DNA Entertainment Networks.
