Shankar, the accused, was intercepted by cops on the outskirts of Bengaluru and found him carrying the severed head of his wife on the scooter footboard
Bengaluru woke up to yet another shocking news after a man who beheaded his wife later surrendered before police, taking the severed head of his wife which he had placed on the footboard of his scooter.
Reports said that the accused, who has been identified as Shankar, was intercepted by cops near Chandapura-Anekal Road in Heelalige village on Friday night after they reportedly spotted blood on his clothes.
Reports said Shankar killed his wife Manasa (26) suspecting her of having an extramarital affair.
They were married for five years and had a three-year-old daughter.
The couple used to have frequent quarrels over Manasa’s alleged relations with another man. She had even moved out of their rented accommodation to live in a paying guest but had returned home after the couple worked out a compromise.
On Friday, Shankar and Manasa entered into another heated war of words following which Shankar, in a fit of rage, attacked his wife with an axe, beheading her at their rented home in Heelalige.
After police recovered the severed head of Manasa on the scooter footboard, they took Shankar into custody.
