Bengal ‘babu’ gets inspiration from Mamata’s portrait

Guwahati: In a divine intervention, a Block Development Officer from West Bengal’s Hasnabad in North 24-Parganas district asserted that he gets immense strength to lead his life positively by admiring the portraits of Swami Vivekananda and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

To be precise, one can definitely follow Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and moral values but speaking the same about Didi will not be much of use. This instance exactly stands for “When Emotions takes over Logic.”

BDO Arindam Mukherjee stated this at a public gathering in Hasnabad’s Bhebia Gram Panchayat, Sadigachhi. The gathering was organized by the Block Development officials to distribute relief materials and essentials for the cyclone “Bulbul” affected villagers. The relief  material kit named ‘Dignity’ contained tarpauline sheets, two sarees, lungi, dhoti, children’s clothes, dry food, stove, utensils and various other daily use items. The kit was sanctioned by the state government and the BDO.

During the public gathering Arindam Mukherjee got all emotional and stated that every morning he stands in front of a portrait of ‘Didi’ and starts his day. He gets inspired by Didi’s positivity and wants to continue doing good work for the society.

However this statement was not easily taken by the BJP quarters. According to reports Joy Prakash Majumdar, vice president of the BJP’s West Bengal unit said that senior administrative officials are losing their neutrality. It is unfortunate to hear something bizarre where bureaucrats are under tremendous pressure from the ruling party to save their chairs.

The TMC leaders didn’t find anything wrong in Mukherjee’s statement as they think that anyone or anything can be an inspiration.

The rift between BJP and TMC is not an unknown saga as such incidents erupt every now and then.
