Bangladeshi national intercepted at Indo-Bangla border in Karimganj, pushed back by Police

GUWAHATI, Oct 19: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that another Bangladeshi national, who tried to infiltrate into Assam through Karimganj, was intercepted by Assam Police and then sent across the border.

“In a successful pushback of an illegal infiltrator in Karimganj district, one Bangladeshi national was apprehended and sent across the border by Assam police,” CM Sarma stated in a post on micro-blogging platform ‘X’.

The Bangladeshi national, Chief Minister Sarma stated, has been identified as Md. Arif. “Our personnel are fully alert to thwart such infiltration attempts in the Indo-Bangladesh border,” he added.
