GUWAHATI, Dec 1: Amid the huge uproar over the arrests of three Hindu monks in Bangladesh, a prominent TV journalist of the country, Munni Saha, was on Saturday mobbed by an irate group in Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar area.
The mob intercepted Saha when she was leaving office and accused her of being an “Indian agent” and a supporter of ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Videos showed the mob surrounding her car and a voice is heard accusing her of misleading people during the 2009 Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) mutiny in which 57 lives were lost.
“You are doing everything to make this country a part of India,” the person is heard accusing the woman journalist who denies all accusations.
Reports said that Munni Saha was taken into custody but was reportedly released in the morning.
Incidentally, after the Sheikh Hasina administration was toppled, she and several other journalists have been charged with crimes against humanity.
