GUWAHATI, Nov 1: The headquarters of Jatiya Party, a coalition partner of Bangladesh’s ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was vandalised and set on fire as clashes broke out in Dhaka on Thursday night.
The office was partly damaged in the incident of arson, reports in the Bangladeshi media stated.
The Jatiya Party, founded by former President Late Hussain Muhammad Ershad, was a coalition partner of the Awami League-led Grand Alliance.
Two months ago, a violent student movement led to the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who fled to India on August 5.
An interim government led by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus was subsequently formed which is ruling the country.
