Bangladesh PM Hasina sends 300 kg mangoes to Assam CM

Guwahati: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent Haribhanga’ mangoes of her country to Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Earlier, Bangladesh PM Hasina has also sent juicy Haribhanga Mangoes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb to maintain diplomatic relations in a sweeter manner with India.  

The Government of Bangladesh has sent 300 kg of the Haribhanga variety of mangoes, which are grown in the Rangpur district to CM Sarma on Wednesday.

The mango was sent to Tanvir Mansur, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh, posted in Guwahati. Following the process, Mansur will be delivering the mangoes to CM Sarma.

During the mango transfer process, senior officials of the administration, customs officials, border guards of Bangladesh and officials of the SDF were also present.

On Wednesday, Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner Tanvir Mansur handed over the mangoes to Chief Secretary to the CM Sameer Kumar Sinha at Janata Bhawan as CM Sarma was in New Delhi.

It is to be noted that Bangladesh PM has also sent 300 kg mangoes to the Chief Ministers of Meghalaya and Mizoram.

A total of 900 kg of mangoes have been sent through 120 cartons for chief ministers of three states.

This mango will also be presented as a gift to senior journalists, a few dignitaries from all three states. Earlier, 2,600 kg of mangoes were sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Sheik Hasina.
