GUWAHATI, Nov 29: Indian batter Shubman Gill has raised hopes of making it to the playing eleven for the second Test against Australia after he returned to training in Canberra today.
Gill had suffered a hairline fracture on his left thumb during intra-squad practice which sidelined him from the first Test at Perth which India won by 295 runs.
Although, reports said, that he was advised rest for 10-15 days, his recovery had been relatively quick meaning he could train with the team.
Reports also said that he could also play against the Australia PM’s XI which begins in Canberra tomorrow.
The second Test – a day-night affair with the pink ball – begins in Adelaide on Dec 6.
