GUWAHATI, Dec 22: At least two persons died after a four-storey building collapsed in Punjab’s Mohali district on Saturday evening.
A 20-year-old woman from Himachal Pradesh also reportedly died in the building collapse while many people are also feared trapped under the rubble with teams of the Army and NDRF engaged in rescue operation.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is reportedly monitoring the situation over phone.
“Sad news has been received that a multistorey building near Sohana in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) has collapsed. The entire administration and other rescue teams have been deployed at the spot. I am in constant touch with the administration. Action will be taken against the culprits. People are requested to cooperate with the administration,” he said in a post on ‘X’.
