Guwahati: In yet another moment of pride for the state, Assam’s Florina Gogoi on Saturday won the Sony TV’s kids’ popular dance reality show Super Dancer – Chapter 4.
Judges Shilpa Shetty, Geeta Kapur and Anurag Basu handed her the trophy on the season finale episode.
Florina took home the gleaming trophy along with the prize money of Rs 15 lakh. Florina’s guru Tushar Shetty was also awarded with Rs 5 lakh as cash prize. The two are lovingly called ‘FloTus’ by their fans.
The 7-year-old dancer was mentored by her Super Guru Tushar Shetty throughout the season.
Hailing from Jorhat, Florina was one of the favourite contestants of judges and surprised everyone with her ease of performing very difficult moves.
Apart from Florina, other finalists included Sanchit Chanana, Pruthviraj Kongari, Esha Mishra, and Neerja Tiwary.
All the five finalists also received refrigerators and air purifiers from show sponsors and fixed deposit certificates of ₹51,000 from a partner bank.
While Florina was always a strong contestant, she did not have a smooth ride. There have been times when judges felt she needed improvement in certain acts. Given her passion towards dance, the young girl from Assam worked hard to win the show.
Speaking about her win, Florina said, “I don’t know what to say! I am feeling very happy and excited. I don’t think I will ever forget this day. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who voted for me and supported me on Super Dancer. And a big big thank you to Tushar Bhaiya for believing in me and training me. Because of Super Dancer, I have made many new friends. I will miss them. I want to continue dancing and learn new forms.”
