GUWAHATI: With the addition of 735 new cases on Sunday, the COVID-19 count in Assam now stands at 16,806.
While, 10,894 COVID-19 patients have recovered, there are 5,873 active cases in the state.
On the other hand, among the 735 new cases reported on Sunday in Assam, 400 cases were detected in Guwahati alone.
Though the positivity rate of Kamrup (Metro) district has come down owing to the lockdown, it has recorded the highest number of cases so far.
The Assam government has extended the lockdown in the district till July 19.
