GUWAHATI: With the addition of fresh 1,057 cases, the COVID-19 count in Assam reached 75,558. Total 20,805 tests were conducted across the state on Saturday. The positivity rate of the day remained low at 5.08 per cent, stated health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet.
On the other hand, 1,593 patients were discharged from COVID-19 care centres and hospitals on Saturday. The total number of recovered patients now stands at 53,286. Currently, there are 2207 active cases in Assam.
So far, 182 people have succumbed to COVID-19 infection in the state. On Saturday, 7 deaths were reported.
