GUWAHATI: With the addition of 1862 fresh COVID-19 cases on Friday in Assam, the COVID-19 tally in the state has crossed 40 thousand-mark. Currently, the total number of cases stands at 40,269 with 30,357 recoveries and 9,811 active cases. So far, 98 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Assam.
“S0 gratifying to see so many patients recovering & returning to their families! Wonderful work by doctors indeed,” health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in a tweet.
Though 38,324 tests were conducted on Friday in Assam, the positivity rate remained low at 4.85 per cent.
In Guwahati alone, more than 5 thousand tests were done in a single day. However, the city reported 281 cases on Friday.
